Since 1979, I have provided services as a Rehabilitation Consultant in Sacramento, CA. I completed my Ph.D. in Human Rehabilitation in 1995 at the University of Northern Colorado. In addition to teaching part-time, I provide services and consultation to large employers related to Workers' Compensation, ADA and FEHA compliance. Providing return to work services to employers assists in reducing workers' compensation costs as well as ensuring compliance with critical state and federal legislation. After 25 years of experience in assisting people with disabilities in returning to work, I have developed considerable expertise in the determination of employability. When I function as a Vocational Expert on personal injury cases, I bring not only a wealth of knowledge but also my skills as a teacher to the forensic arena. To enhance my teaching skills, I completed a degree in Educational Technology in 2003. This degree gave me a new perspective on the importance of delivering information visually as well as verbally in order to utilize multiple learning modalities. To see an example of how I use video clips to increase the viewers ability to visualize the impact of catastrophic injury, click on this link: ADL video.
