What are they?

A place where I can "post" a question or comment and you can "post" a response.

Where are they located?

The Discussion Board (DB) is located within the website for the course. When you first enter the website for a course, after you logon and click on the class you are in, it will look like this -

To reach the DB, you will need to click on an icon labeled "Communication Tools"

This will take you to a screen that has all your communication tools and looks like this -

To reach the DB, click on "Discussions"

This will bring you to the place to view the messages I have posted. Click on any message in blue and you will be able to read the message I have posted for you.

How do you "post" a message to a discussion board?

By clicking on one of the posted topics in blue, you will be able to see the message and reply to it. Here is what the screen looks like when you click on a message I posted -

When you select reply, you will arrive at a screen where you can post a response; I recommend that you first compose your response in a Word document, save it and then copy and paste it into the response window. You can do this by selecting edit and paste from the menu bar just as you do in a word document. Make sure your cursor is positioned in the message window before you paste your document.

Now you have seen what a discussion board looks like for my Psychology 5 class. Are you ready to give it a try?
