Charles Manson prison photoCharles Manson, 68 in November 2002, was convicted of murder and sentenced to death.  Because the death sentence was abolished in the state of California his sentence was changed to life in prison.  He is currently being held at Corcoran State Prison.  He has been a difficult prisoner who is constantly pressing the system

to its limits.  He finds himself in isolation much of the time.  As of April 2002 he has     been denied parole 10 times.  His next parole hearing is scheduled for 2007.

There are several other members of the Manson Family that are still incarcerated for the deaths of Gary Hinman and Donald Shea.

There are three other members that note mentioning here:

Steve Grogan was paroled in 1986 for telling authorities where the remains of Donald Shea could be found.  His whereabouts are unknown.

Sandra Good served ten years for sending threatening communications.  She is now living approximately twenty miles away from Corcoran Prison, and maintains a Charles Manson website.

Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme is serving a life sentence Administrative Unit of the Federal Medical Facility at Carswell, Texas for the conviction of attempting to assassinate President Ford in 1975.
