Who is Sigmund Freud was a project I completed during the Spring semester of 2002 for EDTE 282 & 283 - Strategies for Application and Presentation and Staff Development and Presentation Applications. My intent was to develop a web-based activity to encourage my students to acquire the skills to create online presentations. It was geared toward my Psychology students, specifically, Psychology 130 - Personality Theories.

The Who is Sigmund Freud web site has 2 separate sections: a site for teachers to explain the activity and a a site for the students. The Teacher Site has links to a sample project, which is an example of an online presentation for the student's to use as a model, a survey teachers can administer to students to collect action research data, and a facilitator's guide.

The Student Site has links to the sample project, the lessons in web page creation, the criteria for earning credit for the group project and an explanation of the game of Projection. While playing Projection, students earn credit for participating in the Who is Sigmund Freud activity. A goal of the experience is for students to gain skills to help them with their final group project. Accordingly, students are asked to score the sample project using the same rubric by which their final project will be scored. The overall objective of the activity is for students to gain skills in web page creation while learning how to create a final group project that meets the criteria for credit established by the teacher. Additional benefits include learning how to research information online and how to work effectively in a group.
